Cornea
The cornea is the tough anterior transparent covering of the eye.
It provides most of the eyes ability to bend incoming light rays toward the interior crystalline lens inside of the eye.

What can go wrong?
Since the cornea is exposed to the outside environment, it’s most common injury
results from abrasions and injuries due to foreign bodies. The use of safety goggles could
prevent almost all externally caused injuries to the cornea. The second most common cause
of corneal injury is the abuse of contact lenses. Always follow all instructions regarding
wearing schedules and contact lens care solutions provided by your doctor.
